SHOULD I COME TO THE DRUMHELLER REGION?
The Drumheller area is open and welcoming visitors. To enjoy safely however please remember to follow AHS guidelines such as keeping maintaining social distance, wearing masks in public spaces and not visiting if you are sick.
Most attractions and sites are open and welcoming visitors and there are the beautiful Badlands to explore outdoors.
New measures announced September 15 2021
On September 15 the Premier of Alberta declared a state of public health emergency in Alberta. He also announced temporary measures to reduce the impacts of COVID-19 on the health care system. A Restriction exemption program (REP) was announced.
Starting September 20, discretionary events and businesses must follow one of these 2 options:
- Implement the Restrictions Exemption Program requiring proof of vaccination or negative rapid test result to continue operating as usual, or
- Follow capacity and operating restrictions as outlined

A number of our restaurants have patios for you to enjoy but do please check with individual businesses to find out what services they are offering and if they are open for in-house dining from September 20.
WHAT HEALTH PRECAUTIONS CAN I TAKE WHILE TRAVELLING?
Please ensure you wash your hands, wash surfaces, use hand sanitizers and follow Alberta Health Services (AHS) guidelines. If you have a proof of vaccination or a negative rapid test result ensure you carry it with you.
ARE THERE ANY CASES OF COVID-19 IN DRUMHELLER?
AHS is the authority on new cases. They update their information daily. Drumheller is just south of Starland County.

WHAT DO I DO IF I’M IN DRUMHELLER AND AM EXPERIENCING SYMPTOMS OF COVID-19?
Immediately self-isolate. If you are staying at a hotel or Airbnb the hotel or host can help you do this.
- Take the COVID-19 self-assessment test.
- Call Health Link 811 for testing and instructions.
- Do not go to an Emergency Room or clinic.
DO INTERNATIONAL GUESTS NEED TO SELF-ISOLATE IF THEY’VE ARRIVED?
If you are travelling from outside Canada and are fully vaccinated you no longer have to self-isolate for 14 days. However if you start to feel ill please self isolate and
