Travel Drumheller is excited to invite talented and innovative lifestyle photo and video creators to partner with us in capturing the unique charm and beauty of Drumheller and the Badlands region in Alberta. 1. Are there specific partner members which you need to showcase throughout the next year? If so, can you list them?

  • We have a list of partner businesses that we work with annually. Typically, we collaborate with 3-5 partners selected on a first-come, first-served basis through our partnership program or by specific request. These partners include local attractions, restaurants, hotels, and unique experience providers in the Drumheller region.

2. What community events are you anticipating wanting to cover? Which events shine and would appeal most to your target audience?

  • We cover events hosted by partner businesses and major community events. Specific events requiring coverage will be discussed in January in preparation for the 2025 calendar year. Key events include local festivals, cultural events, seasonal celebrations, and any major happenings that draw significant visitor interest and engagement.

3. Are there specific events, attractions, or activities (hidden gems or not) which may not be marketable but would appeal to travelers if only they had experienced them before?

  • We highlight partner businesses and create captivating imagery of the region to showcase its appeal. Hidden gems include lesser-known hiking trails, unique geological formations, small local museums, and community-run events that offer an authentic Drumheller experience.

4. Outside of the scoring system for applicants, what are your department’s success metrics for deliverables?

  • The success metrics for deliverables include:
    • Photos: Deliver 40-50 high-quality images per content shoot/project capturing various aspects of Drumheller.
    • Reel-length Videos: Create 10-20 engaging short videos per content shoot/project suitable for social media platforms.
    • Short Promotional Videos: Produce high-quality videos ranging from 30 seconds to 2 minutes. Vary on a per project basis.
    • Storytelling Videos: Develop 3 to 5-minute videos that tell compelling stories about the region. Vary on a per project basis.

5. What is the approximate 2023 visitor count? Can you share your projections for 2024 and targets for 2025 and 2026?

  • The visitor count for the region in 2023 is approximately 500,000. We anticipate this number to grow steadily each year.

6. Is there an overarching marketing strategy which you are able to share?

9. How do you envision integrating the new visual content with your current digital assets? Do you want to repurpose old content too?

  • We repurpose old content and create new content annually to keep our marketing materials fresh and engaging. Our requirements include both print and digital formats to ensure a comprehensive promotional strategy across various platforms.

10. How do you prefer to handle feedback and revisions?

11. What sustainability and environmental requirements do you have for your content creators?

16. How many reels and long-form videos are you looking to create? How many finalized and edited still images are you looking to have by the end of the year/project?

20. I understand the project will be starting on August 13, 2024, I am wondering if there is an approximate length of the project? Is it an on-call project or is it a project with a flexible schedule?

While the official start date is August 13, 2024, the commitment is for a one-year period, during which we will collaborate on various projects as needed.
