Fall Plein Air Paint Out Event

Only half an hour southeast of Drumheller is the quaint little hamlet of Rosebud. Known for its fall colours and beautiful scenery, The Rosebud Arts Collective welcomes you to attend their Fall Plein Air Paint Out Event, featuring about 40 artists from all over Alberta, Saskatchewan, and British Columbia.

The weekend consists of painters (both professional and those new to painting) spending the weekend painting throughout the Rosebud River Valley.

Rosebud will also be hosting Alberta Culture Days events this weekend, featuring a Wet Paint Show and Reception.

Everyone is invited to watch the artists paint and create. Some will even be selling their paintings on site, so who knows? Maybe you’ll find a fabulous new piece of art to hang in your home!

Farm to Table

As Albertans, we already know that everyone in the agricultural community works hard to put food on our tables. So let’s celebrate all that they do!

The Drumheller and Stampede and Agricultural Society, along with the Town of Drumheller are hosting a big, old fashioned, home-grown event at the Dinosaur Downs Speedway. September 18th, you’re invited to the Farm to Table Event.

There’ll be local vendors selling their wares, a three-course dinner to sit down to and enjoy (everything supplied by our local farmers and ranchers), as well as a great big barn dance to get into the swing of things![surfacepage

Arts & Culture Day

Get ready for a great day of activities, performances, and other entertainment throughout the whole Drumheller Valley! Singing downtown, fiddling at the Plaza, and Hungarian noodle-making at the East Coulee School Museum. These are just a few of the things taking place for Arts & Culture Day.

Dress up in your finest cozy wear and mosey on downtown where you’ll find The Drumheller Humane Society BBQ, and the Filipino food stand at the Plaza. There’ll be a ton of free activities all around town, including a blacksmithing demo, table games, and even a Cowboy Storyteller.

October 1

More than six million people around the world gather for this event. Now it’s time for Drumheller to be a part of the phenomenon!

Don your lederhosen, raise a stein, and come together to celebrate friends, family, and community. October 1st from 4 pm to 10 pm, join in a fun new Drumheller tradition at the downtown Plaza. Oktoberfest will be full of music, dancing, beer, and plenty of food.

Here’s to good times, and good cheer!

October 3

Drumheller Charity Classic (Disc Golf)

It’s the latest sport to hit the Valley at full force. With some stellar courses in and around the valley gaining notoriety, disc Golf has become a great way to get out and enjoy the outdoors in Drumheller.

In fact, it’s become so popular in the area that tournaments are being hosted, like the Drumheller Charity Classic, a one-day, two-round XC PDGA tournament taking place at the Midland Provincial Park Disc Golf Course.

This event will help raise money for Alberta Food Banks and the Drumheller Salvation Army. There will be a separate division for both Pro and Amateurs, so everyone can have fun and be part of a great cause.

November 20

Festival of Lights

It’s the annual kick-off to the holiday season in Drumheller! The Festival of Lights is a free, family-friendly event that takes place in the Heart of Downtown.

There’ll be singing, and music, and Christmas cookie decorating. Wagon rides, and roaming entertainment. Fire pits with hot chocolate and cider…

Oh, and did we mention that the Big Man himself will be there? Santa Claus will grace us with his jolly, magical presence for a photo op with the kids!

Remember the scene from the movie, “How The Grinch Stole Christmas?” That’s exactly what downtown looks like when the Christmas tree officially lights up. And to end the night, fireworks will light up the night sky.

It’s truly a magical time of the year!
