There’s a lot to love about living in the Drumheller Valley — and this October, we’re celebrating it!
I Love Drumheller Valley Days returns October 9–17 with more than a week of special experiences, local events, offers, giveaways and community fun throughout the Valley.
Travel Drumheller has traditionally celebrated I Love Drumheller Valley Day alongside Tyra the World’s Largest Dinosaur’s birthday. This year, we’re making the celebration even bigger by spreading the love across nine days and inviting residents to rediscover some of the experiences, businesses and places that make the Drumheller Valley such a special place to call home.
Many activities are free or specially priced for I Love Drumheller Valley Days, thanks to Travel Drumheller and participating businesses and organizations.

Friday, October 9
I Love Drumheller Valley Days Kick-Off
We’re kicking off nine days of celebrating everything we love about the Drumheller Valley! Watch Travel Drumheller’s social channels for local business spotlights, giveaways and more throughout the week.
Saturday, October 10
Rediscover East Coulee & the Atlas Coal Mine
Take a trip into the Valley’s coal mining past with two special experiences sponsored by Travel Drumheller.
East Coulee School Museum – Miss Morrison’s Classroom Experience
11:00 AM & 1:00 PM
Travel back to the 1930s with a guided visit to the East Coulee School Museum followed by an unforgettable fifth-grade classroom experience with Miss Morrison. Don’t be late for class!
Atlas Coal Mine National Historic Site – Train Tour
12:30 PM
Climb aboard for a train tour at one of the Drumheller Valley’s most iconic historic attractions. Your experience also includes admission to the Atlas Coal Mine grounds, giving you time to explore the site before or after your tour.
This is the Atlas Coal Mine’s final weekend of regular operations for the season, making it a great opportunity for locals to rediscover this incredible piece of Valley history.
A $10 shuttle is being planned to bring residents from Drumheller to the East Coulee School Museum, Atlas Coal Mine, and back. Space is limited to 18 passengers. Schedule and reservation details are coming soon.
Monday, October 12
Barney’s Adventure Park
1/2 Price Admission
10:00AM – 5:00PM
Come out and enjoy the last weekend of seasonal operations at Barney’s Adventure Park. Gather your people and head down to the park to enjoy a mix of fun, interactive activities. It’s all about having a blast while soaking in a bit of Badland’s history.
Half price tickets are available at the park and are not offered online.
Badlands Amphitheatre
Hike Off that Turkey
Come out and explore Canada’s Badlands, and maybe work off a little bit of your Thanksgiving feast, with a guided hike through the lands surrounding the Badlands Amphitheatre. The hike today will be the Three Valley Gap option that takes hikers through the Corral Creek bed to explore the striking geology of the Drumheller Valley.
This is going to be a mid-morning excursion, times and a link to ticket reservations will be available soon.
Tuesday, October 13
Celebrate Tyra’s Birthday
5:30–7:00 PM
Come celebrate the birthday of Drumheller’s favourite dinosaur! Join the community at the World’s Largest Dinosaur for Tyra’s annual birthday celebration, with Travel Drumheller on site with activities and more.
Drum Distilling Co. Tours
2:00–4:00 PM
Go behind the scenes at one of the Valley’s local producers. Tour details and times coming soon.
Wednesday, October 14
Pasta Night at Happy Belly
Enjoy a local night out with a special $14.99 pasta night at Happy Belly Grill & Bar.
Thursday, October 15
Hiking at the Amp
6:00 – 7:15 PM
We’re headed back to the Badlands Amphitheatre this time for an opportunity to take in a sunset from atop of Lookout Hill. This 75 minute hike will start at 6:00pm and give hikers the opportunity to enjoy breathtaking views during the evenings sunset.

Friday, October 16
Drumheller Dragons vs. Fort McMurray
Drumheller Memorial Arena
Travel Drumheller is proud to sponsor the Dragons as they take on Fort McMurray!
Stop by our booth for contests, prizes and your chance to take part in an intermission game. We’ll also be collecting non-perishable food items, so bring a donation and help us share some Valley love with our community.
There will be prizes throughout the evening, including Royal Tyrrell Museum passes!
Saturday, October 17
Rosebud Theatre Tour & Coffee
4:00 PM
Take a trip to Rosebud for a special behind-the-scenes theatre experience and coffee.
Bridgeviews Chili Cookout
Wrap up I Love Drumheller Valley Days with some great food and community spirit. More details coming soon!
