Start at Downtown Plaza—where it all connects.
From there, choose your direction:
- East → Atlas Coal Mine
- West → Royal Tyrrell Museum
Hop off anytime. Explore. Then catch the next bus when you’re ready to keep going.

• Connect to the pathway network (100m south to Rails to Trails)
• Check out the World’s Largest Dinosaur (500m north)
East Coulee School Museum
Worth the stop:
• Grab a light lunch at the Willow Tea Room or Birdland food truck
• Take a self-guided walk through town
• Picnic at the playground
• Find something unique at local shops, including Caracol Clay
Atlas Coal Mine Historic Site

Hoodoos
Wander off here (just a little):

- How does it work?
ValleyConnect is a fixed-route, hop-on, hop-off shuttle bus.
Start at Downtown Plaza or any designated stop. Ride east or west, get off wherever you like, and catch the next bus when you’re ready to keep going.
- Where does it go?
Two routes connect some of Drumheller’s most popular stops:
- East Loop → Atlas Coal Mine
- West Loop → Royal Tyrrel Museum
Check the map for all stops along the way.
- When does it run?
Fridays & Saturdays | June 26–August 2910 AM–6 PM
The bus leaves the Downtown Plaza alternating throughout the day:
- East Loop → on the hour
- West Loop → :15 past
- Do I need to book ahead?
No booking needed.
Just show up at a stop and hop on.
- How often do buses come?
Each loop runs regularly throughout the day, with departures from Downtown Plaza alternating on the hour (East) and 15 minutes past (West).
If you hop off, another bus will be along to pick you up.
- Can I bring a stroller or small items?
Yes—strollers and small personal items are welcome.
Space can be limited, so foldable strollers are recommended when possible.
- Can I bring luggage?
This service is designed for exploring the valley.
Small bags are fine, but large luggage may not fit—pack light and wander more.
- Is the shuttle accessible?
Yes. Valley Connect is accessible for riders with mobility needs.
Check ahead as not all attractions or locations are accessible.If you have specific accessibility questions, speak with the driver when you arrive.
- Are pets allowed?
Only service animals are permitted on board.
